Sokny works for the Free Trade Union in Cambodia protecting and supporting garment workers. Every day she visits factories to monitor conditions and meet factory workers. One World Action has supported the Free Trade Union to train thousands of workers in negotiation and labour standards. This has given young women workers the confidence to negotiate with factory owners and to establish unions in factories to uphold their rights and ensure they are paid a fair wage. In the past few years three FTU union leaders have been assassinated, and FTU members and leaders face constant harassment. Despite the threats Sokny continues to work tirelessly for fair and safe working conditions.
