Mrs Cisse currently serves as the President of cooperative in her village that offers women opportunities to learn a trade and pursue business. Mrs Cisse has two children and she no longer has the use of her legs. She is self-educated, studying the Koran and learning to read.

The cooperative in Kita that is managed by Mrs Cisse has provided training in sewing clothes, dying fabric, making soap, and processing some foods including peanuts and baobab. The women members of the cooperative also grow the cotton they spin and dye into cloth. More than 400 other women have been trained by Mrs Cisse and now achieve greater financial independence.
